Beam detectors

Beam detectors are used in wide-open spaces instead of an array of smoke detectors. The detector protects a given area by sending signals (IR beam) between a transmitter and receiver, and detects the attenuation or changes in frequency by heat or smoke.

These detectors are suited to applications in open spaces where costs associated with point smoke detectors would be prohibitive. Typical applications include warehouses, hotels, hospitals, schools, public buildings, etc. Coverage includes distances from 1.5 m to 150 m.
